The Positive Effects of Meditation

Live the Impossible Dream
of Everlasting Health

Positive effects of meditation

There are numerous positive effects of meditation. There is an old analogy that goes: “A single candle can light up an entire room of darkness.” Similarly a single positive thought or action can drive away the darkness of a thousand negative thoughts and actions.

The positive effects of meditation can generally be split up into four major subcategories. These subcategories of positive benefits, or little candles, turn into one giant ball of happiness and health.

Dream the Impossible Dream
and Benefit from the Art of Meditation:

spiritual/mental/emotional/physical

There are four subcategories because there are four basic aspects to the human being. Every single human being functions in these four areas in varying degrees.

The four aspects are:
  1. The Spiritual body or Spiritual plane
  2. The Mental body or Mental plane
  3. The Emotional body or Emotional plane
  4. The Physical body or Physical plane

Here is a short summary of the results of meditation in each area. But we will not, as the institutions do, start at the bottom and work up. Instead, we will begin at the top with the spiritual body or spiritual plane as it is the first plane of creation.

The spiritual then filters down through the other planes and finally manifests in the physical. Modern medicine is starting to realise the fact that a physical ailment is a direct result of the internal emotional and mental state of the patient.

The Positive Effects of Meditation
on Spiritual Wellness:

  • A far deeper level of communication with your own spirituality. Whatever that may mean for you.

  • Touching and speaking to the divinity within you. Now that may be God, Goddess, All That Is or your Higher-Self. But you begin to clearly communicate with your soul and spirit.

  • A synergy between you, your soul and spirit. A blending of your conscious mind, your soul and God (whatever God means for you). Thus creating a life for yourself full of experience, love, adventure and freedom.

  • If practiced with excellence, disciplined meditation eventually allows you to turn your entire life into a spiritual physical experience. Simply put, turning your entire life into a continuous powerful meditation.

The Positive Effects of Meditation
on Mental Wellness:

  • Mental clarity by stilling the mind and thus,

  • Tapping into pure mind. Allowing pure inspiration to flow through and going beyond intellect into the imagination, which is the storehouse of pure mind.

  • The ability to focus your thought processes and attention. And so allowing yourself to consciously focus on the positives as opposed to the negatives.

  • A far greater mental awareness of all things going on around you, from the seen through to the unseen.

  • The ability to be master of all functions of your physical and emotional existence.

  • Through the focusing of the mind, another mental effect of meditation is the ability to totally heal and change the negative thought patterns and memories that create depression, suppressed rage, vengeance, bitterness and other such negative emotional states.

The Positive Effects of Meditation
on Emotional Wellness:

  • A far deeper sense of feeling. Being able to feel and process your emotions is incredibly important. When you allow yourself to truly feel, it is far easier to then transmute the so called negative emotions into positive action. Thus turning your hidden emotions into emotions in motion.

  • The ability to create a balanced and focused emotional state.

  • The freedom to express emotions in a pro-active and positive way. Thus deeply affecting your physical well being in a positive way.

The Positive Effects of Meditation
on Physical Wellness:

  • A more relaxed and calm physical body.

  • A strengthening of the immune system.

  • An increasingly healthy functioning of the entire body and all its internal organs.

  • Calm and deep breathing which deeply stimulates the brain and all body functions.

  • An actual neuro-chemical change in the brain, which is physically noticed on an EEG or electroencephalogram.

  • The ability to remain in a cool, centered and calm physical state (or in the parasympathetic nervous system) even in times of heightened stress. When most others would rapidly be slipping into a state of fight or flight anxiety.

The above are some very basic points in terms of the benefits and effects of meditation. When you begin the process of guided meditation it is only a matter of time before these positive effects become obvious. And then you begin to tap into the techniqueless technique and these effects become a continued positive state of being.
